Wiper Pivot: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. For easy access to the windshield wiper blades, turn the ignition switch to RUN and turn windshield wipers on. When the windshield wiper blades are straight up and down on the windshield glass, turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Remove windshield wiper pivot arm and windshield wiper blade assembly from windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft.
3. Disconnect battery ground cable.
4. Remove cowl top vent grille.
5. Remove windshield wiper adapter and connecting arm clip retaining windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft to windshield wiper motor output arm.
6. Remove screws retaining windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shafts. Guide windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shafts from RH side of cowl chamber.
7. Set windshield wiper blade to Dimension A. Refer to Adjustments. Adjustments

NOTE: Before installing windshield wiper pivot arm and windshield wiper blade to windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft, make sure windshield wiper motor is in the park position. Refer to adjustments, Park Position. Adjustments

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten six screws retaining windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shafts to 13-17 N.m (10-12 Lb-Ft).
