Cruise Control Servo: Description and Operation
Speed Control Actuator
The speed control servo is mounted on the bulkhead. The speed control servo incorporates the following components:
^ An electronic module
^ An actuator consists of a stepper motor and geartrain electromagnetic coupling and reduction gearing
Speed Control Servo
The speed control servo evaluates the incoming speed signal from the speed sensor and switch inputs. It adjusts the throttle to maintain a constant vehicle speed.
If the clutch pedal (vehicles with manual transaxle) or the brake pedal are depressed, the speed control servo deactivates the speed control. The servo is will enter a stand by mode.
