Fuel Charging and Controls
The supply manifold is a one piece aluminium die casting with machined holes for the fuel pressure sensor and the injectors. The supply manifold is retained to the engine by two bolts.
The fuel pressure sensor is fitted directly onto the supply manifold and is retained by two bolts. Sealing is achieved by means of an O-ring seal.
The fuel pressure sensor is a vacuum operated, spring loaded diaphragm type and is designed to maintain a constant fuel pressure in the supply manifold.
The fuel injectors are fitted directly into the supply manifold and are retained by the supply manifold when assembled to the intake manifold. Sealing is achieved by means of upper and lower O-ring seals. The fuel injectors are activated sequentially by the powertrain control module which modifies by adjusting fuel injector opening times according to the engine operating conditions.
