Gearshift Cable Adjustment-Vehicles With MTX-75/Manual Transaxle








1. Detach the gearshift lever boot and trim panel from the floor console.
- Remove the insulation pad.





2. Using the special tool, lock the gearshift lever.
1. Pull the reverse gear release.
2. Install the special tool.





3. Rotate the special tool approximately 45 degrees clockwise to lock the gearshift mechanism.
4. Raise and support the vehicle.





5. Release the locking tabs from the gearshift cable and the selector cable.





6. NOTE: Third gear is engaged when the elbow lever is parallel to the ground plate as shown.

Shift the transaxle into third gear.





7. Attach the selector cable to the selector lever.
1. Attach the selector cable (colored black) to the selector lever.
2. Adjust the selector cable by pressing the locking tab.





8. Shift the transaxle into neutral.





9. Attach the gearshift cable to the selector lever.
1. Attach the gearshift cable (colored white) to the selector lever.
2. Adjust the gearshift cable by pressing the locking tab.
10. Lower the vehicle.





11. Rotate the special tool approximately 45 degrees counterclockwise to unlock the gearshift mechanism.





12. Remove the special tool.
1. Pull the reverse gear release.
2. Remove the special tool.





13. Attach the gearshift lever boot and trim panel to the floor console.
- Install the insulation pad.
