Pinpoint Test K: DTC B10D7:05
Normal Operation
- DTC B10D7:05 ( PATS Key: System Programming Failure) - a continuous memory DTC that sets during the Intelligent Access (IA) key programming procedure if the scan tool, the Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module or one of the keys fail during the programming process. The IA key that is being programmed does not program and does not operate the vehicle.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Backup transceiver
- IA key programming concern
- IA key concern

K1 CHECK BOTH IA KEYS
NOTE: Check to make sure that the correct OEM IA keys are used with the vehicle.
NOTE: At least 2 IA keys must be present prior to carrying out this pinpoint test.
- Clear the RFA module DTCs.
- Program both of the IA keys. Refer to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment - With Intelligent Access (IA) With Intelligent Access (IA).
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: RFA Module DataLogger.
- Observe the RFA module PID MASTERKEY, while switching the ignition to the ON mode with each IA key in the vehicle at a time.
- Does the ignition only turn ON and the MASTERKEY PID read Present with only one key?
Yes
If only one key operates, REPLACE the key that did not program. PROGRAM the new key. REFER to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment - With Intelligent Access (IA) With Intelligent Access (IA). CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
No
If both keys do not program, INSTALL a new backup transceiver. REFER to Backup Transceiver Anti-Theft - Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) - Backup Transceiver. PROGRAM the keys. REFER to Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment - With Intelligent Access (IA) With Intelligent Access (IA). CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
