A/T - Occasional No-Reverse, Or Shudder In Reverse

COMPLAINT:
Occasional no reverse, or shudder in reverse. May also have no engine braking in low range.
CAUSE:
The cause may be the low reverse piston binding in the case.
CORRECTION:
Check the fit of the low reverse piston in the case by installing piston and trying to rock it from side to side. If piston rocks, modify locating lug on piston by grinding a small amount from side of lug until piston will fit flat in case. Be careful not to remove too much material from the lug or the piston could rotate far enough so that it interferes with the parking pawl.
