Universal Joint: Service and Repair

1. Remove lock rings from trunnion bearings.
2. Support shaft yoke in a suitable vise.
3. With a brass drift and a hammer, tap on one end of trunnion bearing to drive the opposite bearing from yoke. Then, support other side of yoke and drive out remaining bearing.
4. Remove trunnion. Inspect and replace bearings if necessary, then lubricate with wheel bearing grease.
5. Replace trunnion and press bearings into yoke and over trunnion hubs far enough to install lock rings.
6. Gently tap yoke to seat bearings against lock rings.
