Clutch Cable Installation
Installation1. Route cable and install retaining bolts at cowl panel.
2. From inside vehicle, attach the end of the cable, to the detent, being sure to route the cable underneath the pawl and into the detent cable groove.
3. Position pedal in mounting bracket and install pivot bolt. Pivot bolt must be installed as shown in Fig. Torque pivot bolt to specification.
4. Position pedal stop to bracket and install french lock and attaching bolts. Torque bolts to specification and bend lock tabs against each bolt. The clutch cable must be routed in detent groove and underneath pedal stop.
5. Connect neutral start switch to the pedal and mounting bracket and install hush panel.
6. Support the clutch pedal upward against the bumper stop to release the pawl from the detent. Attach the other end of the cable to the clutch release lever.
7. Check clutch operation and adjust by lifting the clutch pedal up to allow the mechanism to adjust the cable length. Depress pedal slowly several times to set pawl into mesh with detent teeth.
8. At this point, the clutch cable should not have slack. If it does, follow the adjustment procedure outlined under Pressure Plate/Clutch Disc Removal.
