Parking Brake System: Adjustments

1. Depress parking brake pedal 10 clicks on all models except 4 x 2 Pickup. On 4 x 2 Pickup, depress parking brake pedal 8 clicks.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Place a cable tension gauge on right hand side cable on all except 4 x 2 Pickup. On 4 x 2 Pickup, place tension gauge on left hand side cable. On all models, place tension gauge as close as possible to cable equalizer.
4. Tighten or loosen adjusting nut as necessary to provide 140-150 lbs. of tension on all except 4 x 2 Pickup. On 4 x 2 Pickup, adjust nut to provide 270-297 Nm (200-220 ft lb) of tension.

CAUTION: Do not over adjust parking brake.

5. Remove tension gauge and lower vehicle.
