Road Test Procedure
Drive Range-Third SpeedPlace selector lever in this range, accelerating vehicle from zero mph. A 1-2 and 2-3 shift should occur at all throttle openings. The shift points will vary with the throttle opening. As the vehicle decreases in speed to zero mph, the 3-2 and 2-1 shifts should occur.
Intermediate Range
Place selector lever in this range and accelerate from zero mph. A 1-2 shift should occur at all throttle openings. The 1-2 shift point will vary with throttle opening. As the vehicle decreases in speed to zero mph, a 2-1 shift should occur.
Low Range-First Speed
With selector lever in this range no upshift should occur regardless of throttle opening.
Second Speed Overrun Braking
Place selector lever in Direct Drive. At 35 mph move selector lever to Intermediate Range. The transmission should downshift to second speed. An increase in engine RPM and an engine braking effect should be noticed.
First Gear Downhill Or Overrun Braking
With selector lever in Intermediate Range position, accelerate to approximately 30 mph, but not over 40 mph. At constant throttle, move selector lever into Low Range position. An increase in engine RPM and a braking effect should be noted.
