Vehicle Identification Number
VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER:
PASSENGER CAR VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
The vehicle identification number is visible through the windshield near the left door. On all passenger cars, except Corvette, it is stamped on a plate located on the instrument panel. On Corvettes, it is on the left windshield pillar.

LIGHT DUTY (10-30) TRUCK VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
"C", "K", "G", "S" and El Camino trucks display the VIN plate on the left hand side of the instrument panel area. On P 42 models, the plate is attached to the top of the radiator support, and on Motor Home Chassis P 32, to the dash and toe panel.

MEDIUM DUTY TRUCK VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER
On Conventional Cabs, the VIN plate is mounted on the left door lock pillar. On School Bus Chassis, the plate is attached to the engine side of the cowl. On P models, it is located on top of the radiator support panel.
