When trouble shooting the new Custom Cruise III Electronic Cruise Control System, follow the system diagnosis instructions as published in UPC 9 of the Chevrolet Service Manual or by AC Spark Plug Division.
If voltage and resistance checks are made, a digital multimeter should be used. Do not use a test light. The high current draw of the light may damage the internal electronic components.
