V8-350 ENGINE

1. Apply parking brake, then block drive wheels.
2. Adjust throttle linkage, if required.
3. Start engine and allow to reach normal operating temperature, then shut engine off.
4. Remove air cleaner assembly.
5. Connect diesel tachometer J-26925 or equivalent, following tool manufacturer's instructions.
6. Disconnect vacuum hoses as directed on vehicle emissions label.
7. Disconnect two lead electrical connector from generator, then start engine and place transmission in Drive.
8. Disconnect electrical connector from engine temperature switch.
9. Install suitable jumper wire between engine temperature switch connector terminals.
10. Turn screw on fast idle solenoid inward or outward and set fast idle speed to specifications.
11. Remove jumper wire, if applicable, then reconnect all electrical connectors and vacuum hoses.
12. Readjust curb idle speed, if necessary.
