NOTE: The engagement switch, mounted on the turn signal lever, cannot be serviced. The complete turn signal lever must be removed as an assembly. If the pull-wire breaks or the wire cannot be removed, it will be necessary to disassemble the steering column to string the wire harness.

REMOVE OR DISASSEMBLE
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove steering column lower cover and remove protective cover (26) securing wire to column.
3. Disconnect cruise control switch connector and attach a suitable piece of wire to switch connector.
4. Remove turn signal lever by pulling it out of the detent retaining clip inside the steering column. On some models, it may be necessary to remove steering wheel and lock cover to guide the wire through the column.
5. Pull harness up gently so guide wire can be used to install new unit.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Connect the new harness to the guide wire.
2. Place tape over the connector to make it easier to pull through the steering column.
3. Install the turn signal lever into the detent retaining clip inside the steering column.
4. Disconnect the guide wire from the cruise control switch connector and reconnect.
5. Install protective cover (26) around the cruise control switch harness.
6. Reinstall steering column lower cover.
7. Reconnect battery ground cable.
