Switch Removal

NOTE: The column mounted wiper switch is operated by rotating the turn signal lever or the combination turn signal/cruise control switch (if equipped). Refer to the article about removing the turn signal/cruise control lever if it becomes necessary to completely remove the turn signal/cruise control switch and harness.
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Disconnect the turn signal/cruise control harness connector at the bottom of the steering column.
2. Remove turn signal lever by pulling it out of the detent retaining clip inside the steering column. Hang the lever from the harness while disassembling the rest of the column.
3. Disassemble steering column as necessary to remove lock housing.
4. Remove base plate, turn signal switch, ignition lock, dimmer switch, as necessary.
5. Remove the switch retaining pin and the switch.
INSTALL OR CONNECTOR
1. Install the switch retaining pin and the switch.
2. Install base plate, turn signal switch, ignition lock, dimmer switch, as necessary.
3. Assemble steering column as necessary to remove lock housing.
4. Reinstall the turn signal/cruise control lever into the detent retaining clip inside the steering column.
5. Reconnect the turn signal/cruise control harness connector at the bottom of the steering column.
