ECM, REPLACE
The ECM is located behind the instrument panel.
1. Remove ECM attaching screws, shield and bracket from instrument panel, then disconnect electrical connector and remove ECM, Fig. 39.
2. Reverse procedure to install.

TEMPERATURE SENSOR, REPLACE
1. Disconnect electrical connector from switch, then remove the switch, Fig. 40.
2. Reverse procedure to install. Torque switch to 72 inch lbs.
VACUUM CONTROL VALVE, REPLACE
1. Disconnect electrical connector and vacuum hoses from vacuum controller and solenoid, then remove the controller, Fig. 40.
2. Reverse procedure to install.
IDLE & WOT VACUUM SWITCH, REPLACE
1. Disconnect electrical connector and vacuum hoses from sensors, then remove the switch, Fig. 40.
2. Reverse procedure to install.
OXYGEN SENSOR, REPLACE
The pigtail and connector on the oxygen sensor are permanently attached and should not be removed. Removal of, or damage to, the pigtail or connector may affect proper operation of the sensor. When replacing the sensor, keep the in-line electrical connector and louvered end free of grease or other contaminants, including cleaning solvents.
1. Disconnect electrical connector and any attaching hardware, then remove the sensor, Fig. 40. Oxygen sensor may be difficult to remove if engine temperature is below 120°F. Do not use excessive force, as this may damage threads in exhaust manifold or exhaust pipe.
2. Reverse procedure to install. Torque sensor to 30 ft. lbs. New oxygen sensors are pre-coated with an anti-seize compound, however, if existing sensor is being reinstalled, coat its threads with a suitable anti-seize compound.
