Transmission Case

1. Inspect case assembly for cracks, damage, porosity or interconnected oil passages.

2. Inspect intermediate servo bore orifice plug for damage. If plug requires replacement, drive out old plug, then install new plug, orifice end first into case bore. When properly installed, plug will be flush to slightly below top of plug hole.

3. Inspect exhaust vents for openings.

4. Inspect reverse clutch lugs for damage, governor, intermediate servo and speedometer bores for galling or pitting, and snap ring grooves for excessive wear.

5. Inspect reverse clutch seal and intermediate band anchor pin bores for damage.

6. Inspect threaded bolt holes for damage or stripped threads. Install helicoils or equivalent, as needed.

7. Inspect cooler line connectors for damage and replace as necessary. When installing new connectors, apply suitable thread sealant to threads, then torque connectors to specification.

8. Inspect case bushing for damage or scoring. Replace as necessary.
