1. Remove side cover assembly and shift forks. Remove damper assembly which is bolted to extension housing, if equipped.

2. Remove clutch gear bearing retainer.





3. Remove clutch gear bearing to gear stem snap ring, then remove bearing by pulling clutch gear outward until a screwdriver can be inserted between large snap ring and case to complete removal. Do not remove clutch gear. The bearing is a slip fit on the gear and into the case bore.

4. Remove extension to case bolts and remove clutch gear, mainshaft and extension assembly through rear case opening. Remove clutch gear and blocker ring from mainshaft.





5. Expand extension housing to rear mainshaft bearing snap ring and remove extension.





6. Using a dummy shaft, drive counter- shaft and woodruff key out through rear of case. Dummy shaft will hold roller bearings in position within countergear bore. Remove countergear.

7. Remove reverse idler gear stop ring and, using a long drift, drive idler shaft and woodruff key out through rear of case.
