A/T - 700R4 Late Upshifts/High Main Line Pressure

TSB 86-27 (June)

SUBJECT: 700 R4

COMPLAINT:

Late up-shifts, high mainline oil pressure -- sometimes the shifts are OK. Transmission operates as if the throttle valve is sticking.

CAUSE:

Throttle lever to cable link improperly installed. If the wire link is hooked through lever from the wrong direction, binding or dragging occurs, not allowing the linkage to return to a minimum throttle position.

SOLUTION:

Figure # 1 shows the WRONG, but the easiest way to hook the wire link. Figure # 2 illustrates the CORRECT assembly to prevent erratic shifts, high mainline oil pressure, and a generally bad-working transmission.
