Always use new gaskets, seals and retainers during assembly.
1. Install idle mixture adjusting screw along with spring into throttle body, Figs. 1 and 2.
2. Rotate screw clockwise until lightly seated, then back screw out to position noted during disassembly.
3. Install throttle body gasket on float bowl, ensuring that gasket is properly aligned.
4. Install throttle body and retaining screws, and torque screws to 15 ft. lbs.
5. Install fuel filter spring and filter, gasket and fuel inlet nut, then securely tighten nut. Ensure that rubber seal on filter faces inlet nut.
6. Install idle stop solenoid and spring.
7. Install main jet into bottom of float bowl and tighten jet securely using suitable jet wrench.
8. Install idle tube, pressing tube flush with top of bowl casting.
9. Install accelerator pump check ball, spring and T-retainer, pressing retainer flush with float bowl casting.
10. Install accelerator pump and power piston return springs into float bowl cavities.
11. Install lower end of accelerator pump link into throttle shaft lever so that end of link faces carburetor and bend faces fuel nut when lever is in installed position.
12. Install curved power piston link in throttle shaft lever so that opposite end of link faces away from throttle bore and tang retains link with lever in installed position.
13. Assemble accelerator pump plunger with plunger lever and install assembly in float bowl with lever protruding through bottom of bowl.

14. Hold down on pump lever, insert accelerator pump link through slot in lever, then release lever.
15. Assemble metering rod onto holder with spring on top of arm.
16. Assemble right angled end of power piston rod into slot in piston, then install power piston assembly in float bowl ensuring that rod projects through opening in float bowl and metering rod is centered in main jet.
17. Hold power piston assembly down, assembly actuating link into power piston rod, then mount throttle shaft lever on shaft with flats on lever and shaft aligned.
18. Install throttle shaft lever retaining screw and tighten securely. Open and close throttle, ensuring that accelerator pump and metering rod assemblies operate freely.
19. Check metering rod adjustment as outlined in ``Adjustments.''
20. Install float needle seat and gasket in float bowl and tighten seat securely with suitable tool.
21. Hook end of needle valve pull clip over float arm, insert float hinge pin through arm, then lower assembly into float bowl ensuring that needle fits properly in seat and that hinge pin is seated in locating channels.
22. Adjust float level to specifications as outlined in ``Adjustments.''
23. Install choke shaft through air horn bores, align choke blade in air horn and shaft, then securely tighten retaining screws.
24. Ensure that choke blade is properly centered in air horn, then stake ends of retaining screws to prevent loosening.
25. Install air horn gasket of float bowl ensuring that gasket is properly aligned, then lower air horn onto float bowl.
26. Install 3 long and 1 short air horn retaining screws and lock washers, but do not tighten screws.
27. Engage choke pull-off plunger with operating link, position diaphragm capsule bracket over mounting holes, then install 2 tapered head air horn retaining screws.
28. Tighten air horn retaining screws evenly and securely in sequence shown in Figs. 3 and 4.
29. Install choke coil housing, if removed, ensuring that screws are properly positioned.
30. Insert choke coil shaft through housing, install coil lever on shaft and secure with retaining screw.
31. Assemble fast idle cam, fast idle link and upper choke lever, ensuring that numbers on cam face outward.
32. Install fast idle cam and upper lever assembly and secure with retaining screws.
33. Engage choke coil link and lever with lever on choke coil housing, then adjust choke coil lever and choke rod as outlined in ``Adjustments.''
34. Install choke coil and adjust as outlined in ``Adjustments.''
35. Install choke vacuum break vacuum hose between diaphragm capsule and vacuum tube on float bowl.
