Rear Inner Headliner Roof Molding - Sagging

SUBJECT: REAR INNER HEADLINER ROOF MOLDING

MODELS: 1979-1984 C/K, 1985-1986 K, AND 1987 V JIMMY/BLAZER

During high in-vehicle temperatures, the rear headliner roof molding on the subject models may warp or sag. If this condition occurs, a new molding, P/N 15554978, has been released for service. This new molding has four additional screws retaining the molding to the roof inner panel.

To install, place the new molding into position and attach at each end using existing holes (See Figure No. 1). Drill four 1/8" holes into the roof

inner panel that correspond to the holes in the new molding. Attach using screws, P/N 11504659.

Beginning with the following VIN breakpoints, the new molding was incorporated into production.
