SUBJECT: RATTLE (CHUCKING NOISE) IN REAR SEAT

MODELS: 1982-86 C/K AND 1987 R/V CREW CABS

Figure No. 1 - Rear Seat Back:

Some 1982-86 C/K and 1987 R/V crew cab models may experience a rattling (chucking) noise from the rear seat back. This condition is caused by insufficient drag/friction between the seat back frame and seat assembly. To repair this condition, a new seat pivot bolt, P/N 15569026, and wave washer, P/N 335367, have been released. These new parts should be installed on both sides of the seat as shown in Figure No. 1.

These parts were incorporated into production beginning with the following VIN breakpoints:

Chevrolet HS129971
GMC HS509287

Labor Op T 7360 should be used when performing this repair. The repair time is 0.7 hrs.
