Fuel Delivery and Air Induction: Service and Repair

FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELIEF (2.5L ONLY)

1. Remove the "FUEL PUMP" fuse from the fuse block in the passenger compartment.
2. Crank the engine. The engine will start and run until the remaining fuel in the fuel lines is consumed.
3. Engage the starter for three more seconds to relieve any remaining pressure.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the "OFF" position and install the fuel pump fuse into the fuse block.

NOTE: Disconnect the battery in case the ignition switch is accidently turned to the "ON" position.





FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELIEF (ALL OTHERS)

1. All other TBI equipped engine have an bleed orifice built internally in the throttle body unit. It is not necessary to relief fuel pressure.

NOTE: Disconnect the battery in case the ignition switch is accidently turned to the "ON" position.
