Governor Valve Replace

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then raise and support vehicle.

2. Remove propeller shaft assembly.

3. Remove catalytic converter hanger bolts at the converter, then support transmission using a suitable jack.

4. Remove transmission crossmember support from vehicle, then lower transmission assembly to gain access to the shifter mounting bolts.

5. Disconnect transfer case shift link rod.

6. Disconnect transfer case shifter assembly from transmission and position aside.

7. Remove governor cover from case using extreme care not to damage cover. If cover is damaged, it should be replaced.

8. Remove governor.

9. Reverse procedure to install. Apply suitable sealant to cover prior to installation.
