Auto Transmission
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT1. Negative battery cable.
2. Underhood light (if equipped).
3. Hood.
4. Raise the vehicle.
5. Body mounts on utility vehicles. Loosen front and remove two body mounts on chassis cab models.
6. Front air dam end bolts.
7. Raise the body from the frame enough to gain access to the top transmission bolts.
8. Top transmission to engine bolts.
9. Lower the body.
10. Remaining transmission to engine bolts.
11. Second crossmember.
12. Exhaust pipes at manifolds.
13. Catalytic converter hanger.
14. Torque converter cover bolts.
15. Front propeller shaft at front differential.
16. Torque converter cover.
17. Transmission cooler lines at engine clips.
18. Motor mount bolts.
19. Flexplate to torque converter bolts.
20. Front splash shield.
21. Lower fan shroud bolts.
22. Lower the vehicle.
23. Drain the cooling system.
24. Upper fan shroud.
25. Radiator hoses at the radiator.
26. Transmission cooler lines at the radiator.
27. Radiator.
28. Fan.
29. Air cleaner.
30. Air conditioning compressor (if equipped).
31. Power steering pump (if equipped).
32. Fuel lines and hoses.
33. Necessary wires, vacuum lines, and emission hoses.
34. Accelerator cable, TV cable, and cruise control cable (if equipped).
35. Engine wiring harness at bulkhead connector.
36. Heater hoses at the engine.
37. Engine.
38. Support the transmission.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Engine into the vehicle.
2. Raise the vehicle.
3. Motor mount through bolt.
Tighten
^ Bolts to specifications, 114 Nm (85 Ft.Lbs.)
4. Lower transmission to engine bolts.
5. Upper transmission to engine bolts.
6. Raise the body.
7. Body mount bolts.
8. Lower the body.
9. Flexplate to the torque converter.
10. Torque converter cover.
11. Front propeller shaft.
12. Catalytic converter hanger.
13. Exhaust pipe to the manifolds.
14. Crossmember.
15. Lower fan shroud bolts.
16. Front splash shield.
17. Transmission cooler lines at the engine clips.
18. Front air dam.
19. Engine wiring harness at bulkhead connector.
20. Accelerator cable, TV cable, and cruise control cable (if equipped).
21. Heater hoses.
22. Wires, vacuum lines, and emission hoses.
23. Fuel lines and hoses.
24. Power steering pump (if equipped).
Tighten
^ Bracket bolts to 49 Nm (36 ft. lb.)
25. Air conditioning compressor (if equipped).
26. Fan.
27. Radiator.
28. Transmission cooler lines.
29. Radiator hoses.
30. Drive belts.
31. Fan shroud.
32. Coolant into the cooling system.
33. Hood.
34. Underhood light.
35. Negative battery cable.
