SUBJECT: HIGH TEMPERATURE LEVER EFFORT
MODELS: 1986 S/T TRUCKS
GMC NUMBER: 86-T-125

SECTION: 1A-Heating and Ventilation

DATE: December, 1986

ROUTING OF TEMPERATURE CABLE:

Some 1986 S/T model trucks may experience excessive high temperature lever effort. This condition may be caused by incorrect temperature cable routing and/or incorrect cable attachment to the temperature door. To verify correct cable routing and attachment, the following checks should be made:

1. Routing of the temperature cable should be above the glove box as shown in Figure No. 1.

ATTACHMENT OF CABLE:

2. The cable should be attached to the temperature door lever with the adjustment clip facing toward the front of the vehicle (See Figure No. 2).

3. The push-on nut should not be pushed down onto the adjustment clip to the extent that rotation of the clip on the shaft is prevented (See Figure No. 2).
