Fuel Pump Run-On

Some 1985-87 2.5L engines with TBI may exhibit a condition where the fuel pump continues to run for 3 to 4 seconds after the ignition is shut off.

This condition is most likely to occur when a cold engine has been run for a short period of time and shut off. Customers whose cars exhibit this condition should be assured that their car is operating properly. NO REPAIR SHOULD BE ATTEMPTED unless fuel pump continues to run over the period of time listed above.
