SUBJECT: Manual Valve Link

Two types of links have been used between the inner detent lever (rooster cable) and manual valve.

The early style link "A" (8642244) used a clip "B" (8654037) to hold it in place. The later link (8654113) required no clip. These two clips are inter-changeable.




When installing either style link, pay special attention to seeing that it is properly inserted into the manual valve "C". Wrong positioning of the manual valve, rotation-wise, may result in a no-move-forward condition in "D". Fewer after-repair problems have been encountered by installing the late style link during every overhaul.
