Float Level

1. Remove air horn and gasket, then the solenoid plunger, metering rods and float bowl insert, if equipped. If lean mixture screw requires removal, count number of turns it takes to seat screw. Return to exact position when reassembling carburetor.
2. Attach base tool BT-8227A-1 or equivalent to float bowl, Fig. 6. Position tool BT-8233 or equivalent into base, ensuring contact pin rests on outer edge of float lever.
3. Using adjustable T-scale as shown, measure distance from top of casting to top of float, at a point 3/16 inch from large end of float.
4. If float level is more than 2/32 inch from specification, bend float lever up or down as required with bending tool shown, Fig. 6.
5. Remove bending tool, then recheck float level. Check float alignment, then reassemble carburetor.
