1987 Valve Body Gaskets

Service Information Letter 87-13 lists part numbers for an upper valve body gasket and lower valve body gasket for 1987 THM 700-R4 transmissions.

These part numbers have been eliminated and replaced by Part Number 8657938, which includes both valve body gaskets in one package.

Many early 1987 THM 700-R4 transmissions, built prior to October 6, 1986, do not have an auxiliary valve body, but still use 1987 valve body gaskets.

Valve body gaskets are different on 1987 transmissions, and will not interchange with earlier models.







When in doubt, check to see if the gasket covers the hole shown in Figures 1 and 2.
