Oil Charge
R-4 COMPRESSORWith no excessive oil leakage
^ Compressor - Remove, drain oil, measure and replace the same amount of new oil plus 0.028 kg (1 fl oz).
^ Evaporator - Add 0.085 kg (3 fl oz).
^ Condenser - Add 0.028 kg (1 fl oz).
^ Accumulator - Remove, drain oil, measure, replace the same amount of new oil plus 0.057 kg (2 fl oz) to compensate for that retained by the original accumulator desiccant.
With signs of excessive oil leakage
^ Accumulator - Remove, drain, measure and record the quantity of oil in the accumulator. It is not necessary to remove and drain the compressor because it retains a minimum quantity of oil.
- If less than 0.085 kg (3 fl oz), add 0.085 kg (3 fl oz) of new oil to the system.
- If more than 0.085 kg (3 fl oz), add the same amount of new oil as drained.
- If a new accumulator is installed, add 0.057 kg (2 fl oz) of additional oil to compensate for that retained by the original accumulator desiccant.
