SUBJECT: REAR SEAT SQUEAKS AND RATTLES

MODELS: 1976-86 C/K AND 1987 R/V BLAZER/JIMMY AND SUBURBAN MODELS

Some 1976-86 C/K and 1987 R/V Blazer/Jimmy and Suburban models may experience squeaks or rattles from rear bench seats in Blazer/Jimmys and from third bench seats in Suburbans. This condition is due to metal to metal contact at the seat hinge. If the condition should occur, replace the seat hinges with new seat hinge:

These new hinges have a rubber grommet between the hinge and latch (Figure No. 1).

Beginning with the following VIN breakpoints, the new hinges were incorporated into production:
