Reaction Carrier Pinion Gear

Replacing
1. Using 1/2 inch drill bit, remove stake marks from pinion pins. Do not allow drill bit to remove stock from carrier.

2. Remove pinion pins (671) from carrier.

3. Remove pinion gears, thrust washers and roller needle bearings.

4. Inspect pinion pocket thrust surfaces for burring.

5. Inspect reaction carrier for cracks, damage or wear.

6. Install needle bearings in opinion gears.

7. Install bronze and steel washers in proper location.

8. Install pinion gear assemblies into carrier.

9. Install pinion pins, ensuring headed end of pins are flush with carrier face.

10. Using suitable tool, stake pins in three locations.
