Drive Gear
DISASSEMBLE1. Remove roller bearings from cavity of drive gear and wash parts in a suitable cleaning solvent.
2. Inspect gear teeth and drive shaft pilot for wear.
CLEANING & INSPECTION
1. Thoroughly wash transmission using a suitable cleaning solvent and inspect the case for cracks.
2. Clean magnetic disc at bottom of transmission case and check front and rear faces of case for burrs. Dress any burrs off with a fine mill file.
3. Inspect all drive gear and countergear bearing rollers and replace as necessary.
4. Inspect countershaft and reverse idler shaft and all spacers and replace as necessary.
5. Inspect all gears for wear or damage and replace as necessary.
ASSEMBLE
Coat roller bearings and drive gear bearing bore with suitable lightweight grease and install roller bearings into bore of drive gear.
