Inspection

1. Inspect clutch piston for damage. If check ball is missing or falls out or does not rattle when piston is shaken, replace the piston.

2. Inspect clutch plates for damaged tangs, delamination, wear and heat damage.

3. Check piston return springs for heat discoloration and other damage.
Replace if necessary.






4. Check second clutch hub bushing for wear and scoring, If worn, remove old bushing using tools J 23130-6 and J 8092 or equivalents.

5. Inspect clutch splines and thrust washer for wear and damage.
