Fig. 6 Engine Front Cover Installation:
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. On models equipped with power steering, remove power steering pump reservoir from fan shroud.
3. On all models, remove upper fan shroud, then the fan and pulley.
4. Loosen drive belts, then remove alternator, alternator brackets, brace and front bracket.
5. Remove crankshaft pulley, hub bolt, then hub.
6. Disconnect lower radiator hose clamp from water pump.
7. Remove front cover attaching bolts and the front cover.
8. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Apply a continuous bead of RTV sealant on cover prior to installation.
b. Install front cover with centering tool J-34995 positioned in seal, Fig. 6. Tighten front cover to specifications.
