Manual Transmission w/Column Shift
1. Put transmission in Neutral position, then disconnect transmission rods.
2. Test for rotational drag by turning shift lever through 2--3 shift arc. Drag measured must not be more than two pounds.
3. Loosen three clamping screws, then proceed as follows:
a. Increase clearance by sliding clamping screws in direction of arrow ``B'' until first reverse lever is free of drag, Fig. 8.
b. Decrease clearance by sliding clamping screws in direction of arrow ``A'' until a slight drag is felt at first reverse shift lever, Fig. 8.
4. Install a .005 inch thick shim between space and either shift levers.
5. Slide clamping screws in direction of arrow ``B'' until system is loose. Slide screws in opposite direction until a drag is felt at first reverse shift lever.
6. Tighten clamping screws, then remove shim.
7. Install transmission rods.
