Manual Linkage Adjust






1. Apply parking brake, then loosen screw securing selector rod in clamp at lower steering column lever.

2. Place column selector lever in neutral position, using shift gate to find position. Do not use shift indicator to find neutral position.

3. Place transmission manual lever in neutral by pushing lever fully forward to park stop, then pushing lever back two detents into neutral position.

4. Hold selector rod and swivel securely to prevent them from moving out of position, then torque retaining screw to 17 ft lbs.

5. Place column selector lever in park, then check adjustment as follows:

a. Ensure column selector moves into all positions.

b. Ensure starter engages in neutral and park only. Check and adjust neutral safety switch as necessary.

c. Ensure parking pawl freely engages reaction internal gear lugs or output ring gear lugs when column selector ever is moved into park position.
