MODELS: 1988-1989 C/K TRUCKS
Some 1988-89 C/K Trucks may experience a loosening of the rear shock absorbers' lower attachment. This condition may be repaired by retorquing the bottom shock absorber retaining nuts to a revised specification of 95-110 N-m (70-82 ft.lbs.). Please note this revised specification in Service Manual X-8931, Section 3D, and reference this section for shock absorber service. If a truck is serviced for a loose rear shock, both rear shock absorbers should be checked and torqued to the new specification.
