Clutch Drive Hub

Compressor Component View:






Remove or Disconnect

Tools Required:
J 9399 Thin Wall Socket
J 25008-A Holding Fixture
J 33027 Clutch Hub Holding Tool
J 37707 Clutch Plate and Hub Assembly Remover

Compressor In J 25008-A Holding Fixture:




^ Attach J 25008-A to the compressor.

Replacing The Shaft Nut:




^ Mount J 25008-A in a vise.
1. Shaft nut with J 9399.
^ Hold clutch plate with J 37707.

Clutch Plate And Hub Removal:




2. Clutch drive hub.
^ Thread J 37707 into the clutch plate and hub assembly.
3. Shaft key.

Install or Connect

Tools Required:
J 9399 Thin Wall Socket
J 9480-B Clutch Plate and Hub Installer
J 33027 Clutch Hub Holding Tool

Installing The Shaft Key:




1. Shaft key in the groove.
^ Leave the key about 4.8 mm (3/16-inch) out of the keyway.
2. Clutch plate and hub assembly on the shaft while aligning the shaft key and keyway.

NOTICE: To avoid internal damage to the compressor, do not drive or pound on the clutch hub or shaft.

Installing The Clutch Plate & Hub Assembly:




3. J 9480-B on the compressor.
^ Tighten until there is 0.5-1.0 mm (0.02.-0.040-inch) gap between the frictional surfaces of the clutch plate and the clutch rotor.

4. New shaft nut using J 9399.
^ The small diameter boss of the nut goes against the crankshaft shoulder.

Tighten
^ Shaft nut to 14 N.m (10 ft. lb.) while holding the clutch plate and hub using J 33027.
