Owner's Letter

Dear GMC Truck Owner:


General Motors has determined that certain 1989 M-Vans equipped with remote control locking fuel filler doors (NO8) were shipped with the incorrect fuel filler housing. The incorrect housing does not have the words "UNLEADED FUEL ONLY" molded in along the bottom flange. Without these words, these vehicles do not meet the requirements of the Clean Air Act.

To correct this condition, it will be necessary to install a label which reads "UNLEADED FUEL ONLY".

Since a new label can be easily installed and to reduce owner inconvenience, we are endosing a new label and installation instructions. If you desire, your GM truck dealer will install the label for you at no charge.

Please let us know if you elect to install the new label by completing the endosed postage paid owner reply card and returning it to us. This will assist us in assuring that all affected vehicles have been corrected.

If you have sold or traded your vehicle, please fill out the reply card and return it to us.
