Thermostat: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove upper fan shroud, then drain engine coolant below thermostat level.
3. Remove oil dipstick tube and oil fill braces.
4. Remove thermostat housing retaining bolts and coolant outlet.
5. Disconnect radiator upper inlet hose, then remove thermostat and gasket from housing.
6. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten to specifications.
