SUBJECT: Revised Spacer Plate (Removal of 3-2 High Speed Orifice) - 3-2 Downshift Timing




A revised spacer plate for the 1989 THM 700 R-4/Hydramatic 4L60 MPM, MWM, MZM, TUM and TXM models (5.7L Truck models). THE CHANGE IN THIS SPACER PLATE IS THE REMOVAL OF THE 3-2 HIGH SPEED ORIFICE FOR OPTIMUM 3-2 DOWNSHIFT TIMING (refer to Figure). No changes were made to other calibration items.

DATE OF PRODUCTION CHANGE:

Beginning December 15, 1988 (Julian Date 350), the 1989 5.7L Truck models were built with the revised spacer plate.

SERVICE PARTS INFORMATION:

The part number for this spacer plate did not change. The physical appearance changed due to the removal of the 3-2 high speed orifice.

The revised spacer plate can be used to service any 1989 THM 700-R4/ Hydra-matic 4L60 MPM, MWM, MZM, TUM or TXM model.
