Ignition Lock Cylinder

Remove or Disconnect
^ Place lock cylinder in the "RUN" position.
1. Remove steering wheel, please refer to Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and Repair/ Service and Repair
2. Turn signal switch, please refer to Lighting and Horns/Turn Signals/Turn Signal Switch/Service and Repair/ Service and Repair
^ It is not necessary to completely remove the turn signal switch from the column. Pull switch rearward enough to slip it over the end of the shaft. Do not pull the harness out of the column.
3. Retaining screw and lock cylinder set.
If retaining screw is dropped on removal, it could fall into the column, requiring a complete disassembly to retrieve the screw.
Install or Connect

1. Lock cylinder set.
^ Align the cylinder key with keyway in housing, rotate as shown.
^ Push the lock all the way in.
2. Retaining screw.
^ Torque to 4.5 N.m (40 lb in) (Non-Tilt Columns).
^ Torque to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in) (Tilt Columns).
3. Turn signal switch, please refer to Lighting and Horns/Turn Signals/Turn Signal Switch/Service and Repair/ Service and Repair
4. Steering wheel, please refer to Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and Repair/ Service and Repair
