Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Discharge and recover refrigerant from the system.
2. Grille assembly.
3. Refrigerant hose and O-ring from condenser inlet pipe.
4. Evaporator tube and O-ring from condenser outlet pipe.
- Cap or plug all open connections.
5. Bolts.
6. Brackets.
7. Upper insulators.
8. Condenser by pulling it upward.
- Bend the left grille support outboard to gain clearance for the condenser removal.
9. Lower insulators.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Lower insulators.
2. Condenser.
- Add 29.5 ml (1 fl.oz.) of clean 525 viscosity refrigeration oil to the condenser.
3. Upper insulators.
4. Brackets.
5. Bolts.
6. Evaporator tube and new O-ring to condenser outlet pipe.
7. Refrigerant hose and new O-ring to condenser inlet pipe.
- Dip the O-rings in clean 525 viscosity refrigeration oil.
- Tighten condenser connections to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
8. Grille assembly.
9. Refrigerant to the system.
- Check the system for leaks.
