INFORMATION ON NEW SOLENOID ASSEMBLIES TO IMPROVE DURABILITY

MODELS:
1991-92 C/K, P AND G VEHICLES


All HYDRA-MATIC 4L80-E/4L80-EHD solenoids have been changed to incorporate reversible diaphragms, increased coil wire size and inlet filter screens within the Solenoids. Solenoid "A" was Blue and is now Gray. Solenoid "B" was Red and is now Green. This improves the durability and manufacturing process.





PRODUCTION DATE (Figure 1)
Starting February 17, 1992 (Julian Date 048) all HYDRA-MATIC 4L80-E/4L80-EHD transmissions were built with the new solenoid assemblies.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
The new solenoids are serviced for all 1991 and 1992 4L80-E/4L80-EHD applications.

Parts are expected to be available on 4/6/92. In case of limited inventory, parts will be placed on 400 control to waive V.I.P. surcharges. Only verifiable emergency V.I.P. orders will be accepted. GMSPO will make every effort to obtain parts. However, the part will be shipped premium transportation at dealer's expense and all other order types will be placed on backorder until the 400 control is removed.
