Fig. 10 Removing Counter Drive Gear:

Fig. 11 Removing Third Countergear:

1. Support counter drive gear as shown in Fig. 10, then press countershaft through. Do not let countershaft fall to floor.
2. Support third countergear as shown in Fig. 11, then press countershaft through. Do not let countershaft fall to floor.
3. Clean countershaft and gears in a suitable solvent and air dry.

Inspection
1. Inspect countershaft and gears for nicks, burrs and broken teeth.
2. Inspect bearing for wear and rough surfaces.

Assembly

1. Line up the keyway and press countershaft through third countergear until it bottoms out Fig. 12.
2. Line up the keyway and press countershaft through counter drive gear until it bottoms out Fig. 13.
