Clutch: Service and Repair
1. Remove transmission as described under TRANSMISSION.
2. On all except R/V models, disconnect clutch fork pushrod and return spring. On R/V models, remove slave cylinder from flywheel housing and secure aside.
3. Remove flywheel housing.
4. Press clutch fork away from ball mounting, then remove clutch fork, retainer and throwout bearing.
5. Support clutch assembly with suitable tool, then scribe alignment marks on flywheel and clutch cover.
6. Loosen clutch to flywheel attaching bolts evenly one turn at a time until spring pressure is released. On coil spring type pressure plates, it may be helpful to install 3/8 inch spacers between clutch levers and cover.
7. Remove support tool, then the attaching bolts and clutch assembly.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
