(Figures 2 and 3) New Wiring Harness Assembly with an in-line temperature sensor. Replaces current design Temperature Sensor.
Start of Production Date: (Figure 1)
Starting March 31, 1992 (Julian Date 090) all 1992 HYDRA-MATIC 4L80-E/4L80-EHD Transmissions were built with a new Wiring Harness Assembly which has an in-line temperature sensor.
Service Procedure:
Transmissions built prior to this date can be serviced with the previous design Sensor. To service the new wiring harness, leave the current sensor in the previous valve body unconnected. There is no connector for the sensor To service the previous valve body assembly use the new wiring harness assembly and the valve body assembly together, available in available in a service package. Now valve body assembly cannot be serviced with previous wiring harness.
Caution:
Use care when removing the wiring harness connectors. Broken connectors require a new harness assembly.
