INFORMATION ON CHILD TETHER SEAT
MODELS:
1988-1992 "C/K" MODELS
The 1992 C/K Truck and Suburban/Yukon/Crew Cab Owner's Manuals refer customers to their dealer for assistance when trying to install a child seat with a top center strap facing rearward (tether). Instructions for placement of the tether for pickup, club coupe, and crew cab models are contained in the 1992 C/K Service Manual (X-9231) page 10A2-6. The information in this manual also applies to tether placement for 1988-92 C/K vehicles. Although the crew cab is not specifically mentioned on page 10A2-6, the tether locations on the panel are the same.
The illustration on page, 10A2-17 shows a typical anchor location. The service manual procedure was meant to assist the technician in properly locating the anchor point. The actual attaching hardware comes with the seat. There is currently no tether anchor hardware available, through GMSPO, for any of the C/K product line.
Suburban and Yukon models are equipped with cargo tie down anchors in the rear-most cargo area that can also be used as a tether anchor for a child seat. This requires the child seat to be placed in the most rearward vehicle seat.
